Reinforced Plastic Systems is pleased to announce that it has been awarded two major contracts for the supply of erosion/corrosion resistant FRP pipe and fitting for flue gas desulphurization (FGD) plants being installed at Southern U.S.A. coal fired generating plants. The scope of work for this multimillion dollar contract includes design, manufacture, and shop spooling of FRP pipe and fittings sizes 1” through 54” diameter, as well as the supply of the steel supports for the FRP Pipe. The pipe system will include RPS “A” series erosion resistant liner in both pipe and fittings. The “A” series liner was developed by RPS in the late 1960s specifically for limestone and gypsum slurries as found in wet FGD systems. “A” series pipe has been successfully installed and in operation at more than 150 wet, limestone FGD plants world wide.
